Becca's Pick
Eyes Closed, Ed Sheeran

Originally written as a love song in 2018, the song was recently re-worked to recognize the loss of one of Ed Sheeran's closest friends in 2022. The song has a catchy, upbeat feel, despite addressing the topic of depression and grief.

Sam's Pick
Flowers, Miley Cyrus (arr. Mark Brymer)

Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" has topped charts all over the globe this year and recently became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach one billion streams! Expert choral arranger Mark Brymer has arranged the hit song for SATB, SSA, and 3-Part Mixed Choir. With its catchy chorus and empowering lyrics, it's a sure-fire crowd pleaser for choral programs this year!

Annie's Pick
Graceful Ghost Rag, William Bolcom

As the title suggests, "Graceful Ghost Rag" has a hauntingly beautiful melody and really nice syncopation & harmonies. This slow rag was written by William Bolcom in 1970 in memory of his father and inspired by Scott Joplin's music. It has become one of his most popular pieces for piano.

Mark's Pick
All You Need Is Love, The Beatles

Very early in the lives of my children entered a phenomenon known as The Beat Bugs, which instantly and very widely opened the door to the wonder of Music. "All You Need is Love" by The Beatles instantly became a favorite of theirs, and it remains so to this day.

Dan's Pick
How Sweet It Is to Be Loved By You, Marvin Gaye

I recently watched the series finale of A Million Little Things, which was a tearjerker, to say the least. The montage ending set to an acoustic version of Marvin Gaye's "How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You" brought a beautiful sense of closure to the story. It's a perfect song to celebrate our most profound relationships...including mom, if you're looking for a unique way to make her feel special on Mother's Day this Sunday.

Chris' Pick
Drift Away, Steven Universe

Steven Universe is one of my 8-year-old son's favorite shows, and includes a number of catchy original songs spanning a variety of styles. My favorite is the ballad "Drift Away," which includes a beautiful melody and chords changes. I can't get this song out of my head!
